Kehat Shorr

Bio

Kehat Shorr was born February 21, 1919 in Romania. In World War II, he made sorties into Romanian cities to rescue hidden Jews. Kehat proved to be an excellent marksman and was awarded the highest decorations. Kehat turned down offers from Romania, as he had fought for the Jewish people, not Romania. He made aliyah to Israel in 1963, moving to Tel Aviv with his wife and daughter. Kehat joined the Hapoel Tel Aviv shooting team and became Israel's national shooting coach. Kehat gave up competing to become a coach, and trained Israel's national shooting team for the 1972 Olympic Games in Munich.
